Born in Maida Vale, London, on 20 March 1959, Steve McFadden attendd school in London, but left in 1975 and worked in several jobs including labouring, carrot picking, plumbing and working at a builder’s merchant.
After he attended university, he decided that he wanted to become an actor and embarked Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1984, eventually graduating in 1987.
Steve McFadden has won a number of Awards for his work in the acting world including the 2001 British Soap Awards Villain of the Year and the 2001 Inside Soap Awards Most Dramatic Storyline.
He won Best Actor at the 2003 Inside Soap Awards and went on to win the Best Soap Family Award at the 2006 Inside Soap Awards.
Moving into 2007 and he won the Best Male Soap Star award at the TV Now Awards and that was followed in 2008 with an award for Best Single Episode at the Digital Spy Soap Awards.
His next two awards came at the The British Soap Awards in 2016 where he won both an Outstanding Achievement Award and Best Soap Actor.
Steve McFadden made his acting debut playing a small role in the 1988 television film The Firm and had an uncredited brief appearance in the film Buster.
Before he joined Eastenders in the beginning of 1990, Steve McFadden had several appearences in other TV series such as The Bill, Minder and Bergerac.
Joining Eastenders as hardman Phil Mitchell alongside fellow actor Ross Kemp, McFadden was involved in numerous storylines that became legend throughout the shows running time.
While appearing in Eastenders he also made guest appearences in films such as Kevin and Perry Go Large in 2000 and starred in an episode of the BBC anthology series Murder in Mind in 2001.
McFadden left Eastenders in late 2003 and went into the pantomine industry which he also became mega famous for.
