Amy Allen grew up in Windham, Maine and played bass in her sister’s band Jerks of Grass while in elementary school.

As a teenager she played folk and bluegrass music at bars and pubs while attending Boston College and later graduated from Berklee College of Music.

While at Berklee, Allen was taught by singer and producer Kara DioGuardi and in 2015, Allen was featured in Teen Vogue, after releasing two solo EPs and appearing in season 2 of The Voice.


Allen began her career by working on a number of solo projects and formed Amy & The Engine, a four-piece indie pop rock group, before relocating to New York for a year.

In 2018, Allen produced Back to You with Selena Gomez, and Without Me with Halsey which reached #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

In January 2020, Allen was featured in Forbes 30 Under 30 in the Music category while also being announced as a panelist for the 2020 ASCAP Experience, which was later cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

A new single from Allen, “Queen of Silver Linings” is due out July 1, 2020 through Warner Records on an upcoming album.


Amy Allen has two sisters who are younger than her and her parents currently live in Boston Massachusetts.

Two of her best friends include Manuel Ruiz and Vinny Da Silva who are part of her band and have been friends with her since college.
